Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)

The academy receives additional funding for children whose parents are in receipt of certain benefits. We request parents/carers whether currently working or not should still register for this additional funding for the academy, even if you don’t think you are currently eligible. The form is located at the bottom of this page. Once an application has been made to Newham, we will receive a notification with the outcome and the academy will receive additional funding if you are entitled.

How do we use the additional funding?

We use the additional Early Years Pupil Premium funding in a variety of ways including:

• 1x £50 uniform voucher per child for the academic year

• Discounts on academy trips

• Supports the work of the school counsellor and wellbeing room

• Supports the work of the Educational Welfare Officer

• Allows us to run after school intervention clubs

Who qualifies?

The academy may be entitled to claim funding for your child if you receive one of the following benefits:

  • income support
  • income-based Jobseekers Allowance (JSA)
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Child Tax Credit (providing you are not also entitled to working tax credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
  • Working Tax Credit run on, paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
  • the guaranteed part of State Pension Credit
  • Universal Credit and have net annual earnings not exceeding £7,400

Children qualify in their own right if:

  • they are looked after by a local council for at least one day
  • they have been adopted from care
  • they have left care through special guardianship
  • they are subject to a child arrangement order
