Ms Collins led a session today with our trainees on embedding challenge into lessons. We know challenge is the core of the growth mindset, so we encourage our teachers to learn more about their students, ask open questions and encourage students to share opinions. https://t.co/NcExxnAAyo

Welcome

Our belief is that children thrive when they are consistently happy and safe at Nursery and Primary School. A welcome from our Heads of School, Alice Hodgson and Elin Gardner.

2 226 gOur academy is a wonderful place to learn. In the nursery and primary phase, we have the privilege of working Chobham youngest students they begin their journey through school and grow to become engaged and capable learners. From the moment students begin their  learning journey with us, we begin instilling our ‘ICHEER’ school values which the children will be encouraged to uphold until they leave the secondary phase. ICHEER stands for inclusion, curiosity, honesty, empathy, excellence and respect, qualities we teach children to embody while in school and in the wider world.

We believe that a safe and nurturing first school experience is key to students’ wellbeing and later academic success. It’s in the nursery that students first begin to develop a love of learning and a thirst for knowledge which will stay with them throughout their lives. Our learning environment enables our students to grow in confidence and build resilience as they develop. These formative years in a child’s education are crucial and we are committed to providing our students with the best possible start.

At Chobham, we deliver a stimulating and broad curriculum and we are incredibly proud of the exceptional results our students achieve across the full range of curriculum subjects. Whether our students are young mathematicians, scientists, musicians, athletes or their talents take them in other directions, we give them the opportunity to cultivate those passions at school. We offer a wide range of extra-curricular opportunities to inspire their young minds outside of the classroom context.

With us, our students take the first steps on their journey to becoming active, engaged and responsible citizens in their future lives. It’s a great pleasure to share this journey with them during their years in the primary phase.

If you would like to find out more about our school please do come and visit us and talk to as many children and staff as you can. We are very much looking forward to meeting you.

Alice Hodgson and Elin Gardner, Joint Heads of School
