Alumni Event
Yesterday Chobham held its first Alumni event where past students liaised with our current students giving them honest and relevant advice about their further education pathways. Our students felt that it was useful getting genuine feedback from "people that had just been through the process, so really knew what they were talking about".
The workshop consisted of one-to-one sessions tailored to the students specific pathway interests. Dialogue included student finance advice, the clearing process, realistic university choices, dealing with disappointment, writing imaginative and unique UCAS statements to help gain an interview and university not always being the only route to success.
The alumni included students from a range of pathways including Russell Group universities, apprentices, creative pathways and industry.
The event was so successful that we plan to build this into our career programme for years to come.
